About The Position

The City of Bothell is seeking a Public Works Maintenance Specialist to join the Streets Division. This position plays a vital role in maintaining the City's landscapes, parks, rights-of-way, and public spaces through vegetation management, landscape maintenance, and construction activities. We are looking for a skilled professional who values safety, demonstrates strong leadership and teamwork, and takes pride in delivering excellent service to the community.

Requirements

Ability to earn International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Certified Arborist certification within one year of employment if certification is not held at the time of hire.
Learn and adapt to new tools and systems with ease to support work efficiency.
Communicate clearly, respectfully, and professionally across a variety of settings.
Quickly identify challenges and apply logical, evidence-based approaches to resolve them.

Responsibilities

Perform landscape maintenance and construction tasks, including formal landscaping, vegetation management, irrigation repair, troubleshooting, and tree pruning.
Inspect worksites, identify maintenance needs, and determine appropriate methods, materials, and equipment to complete projects efficiently.
Safely operate specialized tools and equipment while following City, State, Federal, and Public Works safety standards; recognize and report hazards and equipment issues.
Train and support staff, promote teamwork and cross-training, and provide professional customer service to residents, contractors, and City employees.
Build positive relationships between the City of Bothell and the community through courteous, cooperative interactions and adherence to City policies, goals, and priorities.
