About The Position

Ferguson Township is seeking a Seasonal Public Works Laborer to support the Public Works Department in maintaining Township infrastructure and public spaces. This position involves a wide variety of manual labor and semi-skilled trade work to ensure a well-maintained community. As a Seasonal Public Works Laborer, you will be crucial in maintaining and enhancing the Township's roads, parks, and public spaces. Requirements

• Minimum age: 16
• Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License (Class C) required.
• Successful candidate pending a pre-employment physical, drug screening, and background check.

Nice To Haves

• Minimum age: 18+ preferred
• CDL and equipment operation experience preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Mow grass and control roadside vegetation using equipment such as zero-turn mowers, push mowers, string trimmers, and leaf blowers.
• Maintain landscaped areas including mulch beds, trees, and plantings through weeding, mulching, and watering.
• Perform general road maintenance tasks including pothole patching, crack sealing, and culvert cleaning.
• Assist with traffic control setup and safety procedures during roadwork operations.
• Operate Township vehicles such as pickup trucks.
• Utilize hand tools and power tools including shovels, rakes, saws, drills, and other equipment as needed.
• Assist with maintenance and basic servicing of vehicles, tools, and equipment.
• Support other Public Works operations and special projects as assigned.
