About The Position

Assist with the application processes for summer activities, including Camp NEOSA and backpacks. Provide direction and support to parents seeking assistance for their children.

Requirements

  • Minimum of high school diploma.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and show compassion for those less fortunate.
  • Telephone and computer experience are required.
  • Excellent organization, time management, and communication skills.
  • Must be a team player, work well under pressure and follow directions.
  • Must be computer savvy with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid Ohio Driver’s license, reliable transportation and the ability to obtain and maintain driving privileges per Salvation Army insurance standards.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, screen and process parents through the Campminder application process.
  • Monitor Campminder and contact families for needed documents.
  • Arrange the lice, luggage and medication drop off prior to camp departure.
  • Create list of children enrolled including parents contact information.
  • Work with Operations Manager to assign chaperons for bus trips.
  • Arrange for snacks during the bus trips to and from camp.
  • Prepare applications and distribution cards prior to application dates.
  • Receive, screen and process parents through the application process.
  • Create spreadsheets with applicants’ information to include child’s name, age and gender.
  • Assist with distributing backpacks.
  • Assist the Corps Officers with the Summer feeding program.
  • Provide support in the supervision of the children during lunch and activities.
  • Maintain accurate administrative records as needed for Connecting Kids to Meals, program statistics and other records as required.
  • Act as back up to The Salvation Army receptionist, answering all incoming telephone lines, as needed.
  • Complete any other related duties as specified by supervisor.
  • Maintain confidentiality in accordance with The Salvation Army policies and procedure.
  • Maintain positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters good relationships with beneficiaries, co-workers, and supervisors.
  • May require evening and weekend hours.
