About The Position

The Seasonal Pool Supervisor is responsible for overseeing pool attendants during assigned shifts, ensuring the readiness and cleanliness of the pool area, managing patron access and services, and maintaining administrative records. This role involves direct supervision, enforcing rules, and acting as a point of contact for both staff and patrons, reporting to the Calabra Food & Beverage Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise pool attendants during assigned shifts, including daily task assignment, break scheduling, and workflow coordination.
  • Conduct pre-shift briefings to review daily priorities, patron counts, facility conditions, and any special instructions.
  • Monitor attendant performance throughout the shift; provide real-time coaching, recognition, and corrective direction as needed.
  • Serve as the first point of escalation for attendant questions, patron issues, or situations requiring supervisory judgment.
  • Assist the Calabra Food & Beverage Manager with end-of-season performance evaluations and documentation of conduct or performance concerns.
  • Model professional appearance, conduct, and customer service standards at all times.
  • Oversee the opening and closing of the pool area, including setup, equipment checks, and patron access procedures.
  • Ensure the pool deck, locker rooms, restrooms, shower areas, and common spaces are clean, organized, and patron-ready throughout the day.
  • Assign and monitor attendant cleaning and maintenance tasks; verify completion before each shift transition.
  • Inspect pool furniture, umbrellas, signage, and equipment daily; report damage, hazards, or maintenance needs to the Calabra Food & Beverage Manager promptly.
  • Ensure adequate supplies (towels, cleaning products, waste bags, signage) are stocked; submit replenishment requests as needed.
  • Ensure all posted rules, hours, and safety signage are visible, legible, and properly positioned.
  • Greet patrons courteously, verify access credentials or passes, and manage pool area entry and capacity in accordance with facility policies.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to patron questions, requests, and concerns; escalate complaints to the Calabra Food & Beverage Manager as appropriate.
  • Enforce pool area rules and facility policies consistently and fairly; de-escalate situations calmly and document incidents as required.
  • Communicate pool hours, closures, capacity limits, and program information clearly to patrons.
  • Assist patrons with special needs in accessing pool area amenities in a courteous and accommodating manner.
  • Monitor and manage patron flow during peak periods to maintain a safe, organized, and enjoyable environment.
  • Maintain accurate daily logs including patron attendance counts, staff hours, incidents, and facility condition notes.
  • Complete incident and accident reports in accordance with department policy; submit to Calabra Food & Beverage Manager by end of shift.
  • Track and document pool attendant attendance, tardiness, and schedule changes; notify Calabra Food & Beverage Manager of staffing gaps.
  • Submit daily end-of-shift summary reports to the Calabra Food & Beverage Manager covering operations, patron volume, and any issues arising.
  • Assist with inventory tracking for pool area supplies and equipment.
  • Participate in pre-season staff orientation and training sessions as directed.
