Under direct supervision performs activities associated with drug distribution, ordering and control for medication dispensing. Logan Health is looking for an experienced Seasonal Pharmacy Technician to join our Retail Team this season! This temporary position offers a 13 week, full-time schedule with additional seasonal differential and a completion bonus! You will primarily be working out of our Columbia Falls, MT, Retail Pharmacy and also be assisting with coverage at our Kalispell Retail Pharmacy as needed. Where we are located: Our pharmacy is located in the historic town of Columbia Falls, MT, conveniently situated inside the Super 1 Grocery Store. In addition, you will be working in the Flathead Valley, which offers stunning mountain views, two ski resorts, hiking and biking trails, as well as Glacier National Park! In this role, you’ll play a key part in medication distribution, inventory management, and patient support—all while working alongside experienced pharmacists and healthcare professionals. Your contributions will help keep our pharmacy running smoothly. We’re looking for someone with pharmacy technician experience, strong organizational skills, great attention to detail, and a passion for healthcare. Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of 2 years applicable Retail Pharmacy Technician experience to qualify
  • Possess an active licensure with the Montana Board of Pharmacy as a Certified Pharmacy Technician in good standing.
  • Minimum of 2 years of Retail Pharmacy Technician experience required.
  • RQI CPR First Responder within 7 days of hire/transfer or before independent patient care, whichever comes first. Will be provided by Logan Health in first week of employment.
  • Proficient typing skills required.
  • Must have an understanding of medical terminology and calculations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with PioneerRX software is desired, but not required
  • Prior experience in Pharmacy Systems and Electronic Health Records preferred.
  • Possess ability to learn other software as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Understands and completes all aspects of medication distribution from the pharmacy to all areas assigned including, but not limited to; inpatient and/or outpatient dispensing.
  • Filling the automated dispensing machines and utilizing the bar code scanning.
  • Filling patient drawers in all nursing units.
  • Delivering medications in the most efficient manner to all assigned areas.
  • Completes rounds according to current policy.
  • Promptly and efficiently answers telephone calls, responds to inquiries and routes appropriately as needed.
  • Performs all tasks associated with maintaining the pharmacy inventory.
  • Ordering, receiving, and shelving medications.
  • Documents and communicates drug shortages.
  • Monitors the pharmacy inventory for out dated medications, and disposes according to current policy.
  • Exhibits a working knowledge of all pharmacy computer systems.
  • Aids in staff development, orients new employees and students, participates in quality assessment, and improvement projects.
  • Maintains a neat and orderly environment.
  • Actively continues education to keep abreast of Pharmacy law and to maintain current licensure.
