This temporary position offers a 13 week, full-time schedule with additional seasonal differential and a completion bonus! You will primarily be working out of our Kalispell, MT, Retail Pharmacy and also be assisting with coverage at our Columbia Falls Retail Pharmacy as needed. Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of 2 years applicable Retail Pharmacy Technician experience to qualify
  • Possess an active licensure with the Montana Board of Pharmacy as a Certified Pharmacy Technician in good standing.
  • Minimum 2 years Retail Pharmacy Technician experience
  • RQI CPR First Responder required (will be provided by Logan Health during first week of employment)
  • Proficient typing skills required.
  • Must have an understanding of medical terminology and calculations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with PioneerRX pharmacy program a plus!
  • Prior experience in Pharmacy Systems and Electronic Health Records preferred.
  • Possess ability to learn other software as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Understands and completes all aspects of medication distribution from the pharmacy to all areas assigned.
  • Completes rounds according to current policy. This includes delivering and retrieving medications, debiting and crediting medications to patient specific accounts to ensure accurate billing. This process will be coordinated with other pharmacy personnel to meet the immediate needs of the pharmacy department.
  • Promptly and efficiently answers telephone calls, responds to inquiries and routes appropriately as needed.
  • Performs all tasks associated with maintaining the pharmacy inventory. This includes, but is not limited to: Ordering, receiving, and shelving medications. Documents and communicates drug shortages. Monitors the pharmacy inventory for out dated medications, and disposes according to current policy.
  • Exhibits a working knowledge of all pharmacy computer systems.
  • Aids in staff development, orients new employees and students, participates in quality assessment, and improvement projects.
  • Maintains a neat and orderly environment. This includes, but is not limited to: Cleaning duties. Medication disposal Trash disposal
  • Actively continues education to keep abreast of Pharmacy law and to maintain current licensure.
  • Maintains regular and consistent attendance as scheduled by department leadership.
