About The Position

The Seasonal Outlet Associate receives incoming merchandise, sorts and processes products according to procedure, and moves merchandise between work areas toward its appropriate destination. The role also includes maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of warehouse and sorting areas, storage containers, restrooms, grounds, waste receptacle areas, and the cash wrap and surrounding sales floor. The associate assists with loading and unloading items, may operate heavy equipment after training and certification, and supports daily store operations under the direction of the Outlet Manager. The position involves communicating with guests and team members, sharing the St. Matthew’s House mission, and providing customer service in a safety-oriented, faith-based team environment emphasizing organization, teamwork, compassion, efficiency, and professionalism.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
No experience necessary; training will be provided.
Flexibility in work hours; the position requires some overtime and the ability to work on some holidays.
Works with confidential information.
Ability to work safely and cooperatively with varied team members and in varied situations.
Ability to stand, walk, reach, bend, and stoop for long periods.
Ability to handle, feel, and/or reach with hands and arms, and frequently lift and/or move items up to 75 pounds with assistance.
Normal mental and visual capabilities required by the flow of work.

Responsibilities

Receive incoming merchandise, then sort and process it for the appropriate locations.
Maintain cleanliness and appearance of warehouses, sorting and storage areas, restrooms, surrounding areas, grounds, and commercial waste receptacle areas.
Break down large unsellable items and place them neatly in appropriate waste receptacles.
Move processed and unprocessed products and other items between work areas.
Operate heavy equipment after receiving required training and certification.
Assist with loading and unloading items, ensuring they remain undamaged and are placed in the correct location.
Work closely with the supervisor and assist with daily duties.
Manage time, prioritize tasks, and balance cash wrap activity.
Maintain the appearance of the cash wrap and surrounding sales floor.
Complete assigned tasks efficiently and on time, and communicate daily with leadership about needs.
Communicate clearly and calmly with guests and team members; share the St. Matthew’s House mission with guests and the general public.
Perform duties and additional responsibilities as directed by the Outlet Manager to support efficient store operations.
Follow St. Matthew’s House policies and procedures.
Maintain professionalism, safety, courtesy, positive communication, trustworthiness, teamwork, and a neat professional appearance.
