About The Position

Applications are being accepted for seasonal positions with the Eaton County Parks Department. Unless otherwise noted, these positions report to Fitzgerald or Fox Memorial Park. Vacations are not allowed. Responsible for enforcing park rules and regulations and performing public relations. See essential functions of each position for more information.

Requirements

• Must be at least eighteen year of age.
• Must be willing to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Must have a valid Michigan Drivers License and a good driving record.
• Subject to a criminal background check, driver's license check and pre-employment physical.
• Must have dependable transportation.
• Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with the public.

Responsibilities

• Clean shelters, restrooms and other facilities and replenish supplies.
• Trash, litter and debris pick up and collection.
• Assist in landscaping, construction and trail maintenance projects.
• Operate power and hand equipment including some mowing, trimming, and snow removal.
• Assist in maintenance on departmental equipment and vehicles.
• Set up reserved park areas, including moving additional tables and trash barrels as needed.
