About The Position

Corto Olive is a nationally recognized, family-owned company known for crafting superior olive oil for professional and home chefs. This is a seasonal position located on-site at our Stockton Facility. The Seasonal Milling Lead oversees the Receiving and Milling Operators. This position is responsible for the success of the Receiving and Milling Team’s safety and performance. The Milling Lead must work closely with the Shift Supervisor, Sanitation Lead, Logistics Coordinator, and Maintenance to execute all production schedules, ensure quality standards are maintained, and minimize downtime through the receiving and milling process. Corto Harvest is a 24/7 operation from mid-October – early December so the ability to work any shift, at least 6 days per week, is required and a willingness to work up to 12 hours if needed.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and write.
  • 1 year leadership experience.
  • Excellent communicator amongst peers and with direct management.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to operate a forklift and successfully pass both a written and driving test.
  • Bilingual in Spanish.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years in a manufacturing or experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities

  • Executing all tasks using work instructions, checklists, and reaction plans, ensuring all staff adhere to these guidelines.
  • Working directly with the Milling Supervisor to provide leadership and hands-on support to the Receiving and Milling Teams, while executing all receiving and milling tasks, including unloading olive trucks, mechanically cleaning olives for milling, and milling fresh extra virgin olive oil.
  • Utilizing reporting, information, and KPI’s to provide decision-making and measure operational success.
  • Coordinating receiving and milling sanitation schedule and production cleaning needs with Sanitation Lead.
  • Communicating with the Logistics Coordinator to ensure the receiving and milling lines receive the correct olives at the right location and time.
  • Holding the team accountable for following (Encouraging the team to follow) the Corto Fresh program, focusing on safety, food safety, and shift targets.
  • Conducting daily start-of-shift huddles with the Milling Supervisor and Shift Manager.
  • Maintaining olive and oil traceability in the receiving and milling area.
  • Troubleshooting and resolve equipment issues and situations with milling supervisor and maintenance that affect safety, product quality, and throughput.
  • Managing and cover team breaks and lunches, ensuring all are taken within set timelines.
  • Complying with all company safety policies, practices, and procedures. Participating in safety training and report all unsafe conditions or work practices.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
