About The Position

The Public Works seasonal employee performs tasks consistent with but not limited to the maintenance of the Municipal Center (City Hall) City buildings/grounds. This position requires manual labor and routine equipment operation for maintenance operations for the Fleet and Building Division.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age by start of position.
• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Experience in home and yard maintenance activities.
• Valid Driver's license and excellent driving record.
• Demonstrates positive work ethic.
• Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision
• Ability to meet the physical requirements, bending, twisting, gripping, carrying, shoveling and lifting up to 50lbs.
• Work indoors and outdoors.
• Knowledge of appropriate safety regulations and demonstrated ability to follow safe work practices according to law. City practices, and general accepted safe work standards.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of equipment operation and maintenance.
• Experience in related field.
• Experience as a Seasonal maintenance employee.

Responsibilities

• Building Maintenance (e.g. painting, organizing and routine services, etc.).
• Snow removal included but not limited to shovel walks, door entrances and lot plowing.
• Performing routine maintenance on the mowing equipment (washing, greasing, checking fluids, etc.)
• Janitorial duties (e.g. emptying trash cans, sweep and mop hallways, etc.)
• Picking up trash.
• Assisting full-time employees with day-to-day responsibilities
