About The Position

The City of Wilsonville is hiring a Seasonal Roads Maintenance Worker! If you enjoy working outdoors, staying active, and making a visible difference in your community, this is a great opportunity to join our Public Works team. In this hands-on role, you'll help keep Wilsonville's streets safe and well-maintained by assisting with pothole repairs, asphalt patching, traffic sign maintenance, vegetation management, and other roadway maintenance projects. Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Valid driver license
  • Ability to obtain Flagging certificate (training provided)
  • At least 18 years of age at time of hire
  • Ability to effectively use oral and written communication
  • Ability to learn city procedures, regulations, and requirements
  • Thorough knowledge of landscape and recreation facility maintenance
  • Thorough knowledge of the safety standards, practices, and procedures relating to grounds and facility maintenance
  • Maintain a safe driving record

Nice To Haves

  • No experience required, but preferred
  • Public Pesticide Applicators License
  • Commercial Drivers License

Responsibilities

  • Performing routine maintenance of the City buildings, grounds, right of way, and/or parks
  • Assisting with construction activities and special projects
  • Landscape maintenance (Turf maintenance, Soil preparation and planting, Fertilization application, Weed and pest control, Shrub and tree maintenance, Pruning, Irrigation maintenance and repair, Installation)
  • Building maintenance (Plumbing, Painting, Janitorial responsibilities, Woodworking)
  • Other maintenance and construction duties
  • Equipment maintenance (Safety inspection, Grease and oil, Hydraulic systems, Mower blade inspection)
  • Public interaction (Respond to questions from the public about recreation programs, facilities, and schedules, Provide direction to the public concerning safety issues related to the use of park facilities, Provide assistance in user conflict situations)
