About The Position

Tessera is seeking a hardworking and motivated Seasonal Grounds Maintenance Worker with a positive/helpful attitude. This is a temporary position and is expected to run up to but no longer than November 30th, 2026. Typical duties include but are not limited to: Implement the weekly grounds work plan to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and on schedule. Lead morning crew meetings to review the daily schedule, clarify expectations, and address any safety concerns or hazards. Promptly report and assist in resolving any safety issues to the Supervisor. Complete end-of-day documentation detailing services performed and their locations. Oversee the organization, cleanliness, and proper use of the equipment shop. Schedule, supervise, and assist with weekly general equipment maintenance, reporting any damage or mechanical issues to the Supervisor or Site Mechanic. Develop task-specific safety plans to ensure the health and well-being of all grounds employees. Assist the Site Supervisor and Site Safety Representative with conducting monthly safety training sessions. Maintain thorough knowledge of all grounds equipment, including proper operation, safety concerns, and required PPE. Coach, mentor, and provide guidance to employees, addressing concerns in a professional and respectful manner. Provide timely feedback to the Supervisor regarding work-related issues, including situations that may require disciplinary action. Document daily attendance and time-off requests—including no-call/no-show, sick leave, and vacation—and communicate these to the Supervisor or Pay Administrator. Serve as a positive representative of the company and model professionalism in appearance, attitude, and behavior. Effectively communicate with the Air Force customer and other stakeholders as required. Perform mowing, trimming, edging, and weed and brush control across assigned areas. Collect and remove all rubbish, debris, and trash—including rocks, paper, pinecones, limbs, and other objects—from grounds, landscaped areas, and along foundation walls. Perform basic maintenance on all grounds equipment. Operate tractors, mowers, weed eaters, chain saws, brush cutters, and other grounds equipment safely and efficiently. Read and interpret contract requirements, site maps, and work orders to ensure tasks are completed accurately. Submit weekly reports to the QC department summarizing work completed and any issues encountered. All Other Duties as Assigned.

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading grounds or equipment crews, with the ability to plan daily work, run crew meetings, and ensure tasks are completed safely and on schedule.
  • Strong working knowledge of tractor and grounds equipment operation and maintenance, including safety requirements, PPE, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Ability to coach, mentor, and communicate effectively, providing guidance to employees while maintaining professionalism with supervisors and customers.
  • Organized and detail-oriented, with experience completing reports, documenting attendance, interpreting work orders or site maps, and following contract requirements.
  • A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
  • Access to a federal military installation requires a REAL ID-compliant driver's license or an acceptable alternative, such as a U.S. passport or military ID, in accordance with the REAL ID Act.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access.
  • A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.
