Seasonal Laborer - Boiling Springs State Park
About The Position
This position performs a variety of manual labor, general repair, and grounds-maintenance duties. Work may include cutting grass, weeds, trees, and brush; clearing culverts, drains, and ditches; moving and hauling materials, supplies, and equipment; and occasionally operating a forklift or tractor. The laborer may assist skilled craft workers by carrying tools and materials, collecting supplies, mixing concrete or mortar, digging holes, and removing walls. Other duties include mowing lawns, trimming shrubs, cleaning restrooms, sweeping and maintaining walkways and floors, picking up trash, and performing general cleanup and custodial work. This is a part-time seasonal position at Boiling Springs State Park paying $14.00 per hour. The estimated appointment end date is January 1, 2099.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be able to perform tasks involving regular bending, stooping, squatting, and walking.
- Must be able to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- A valid driver's license is required at some locations.
Responsibilities
- Cut grass, weeds, trees, and brush; clean culverts, drains, and ditches.
- Move, load, unload, haul, and carry materials, supplies, and equipment.
- Occasionally operate a forklift or tractor.
- Assist skilled craft workers by carrying tools and materials, obtaining supplies, mixing concrete or mortar, digging holes, and tearing out walls.
- Dig post holes and ditches; mow lawns, trim shrubs, rake grass and trash, sweep walks, and clean restrooms.
- Chip, scale, clean, and scrape ironwork; assist with setting up or moving scaffolds.
- Sweep, mop, and buffer floors; pick up trash and perform general cleanup and custodial duties.
