About The Position

Positions in this job family are assigned responsibilities for performing a variety of manual labor and general repair duties, and grounds maintenance. This role involves tasks such as cutting grass, weeds, trees and brush; cleaning culverts, drains and ditches; moving, loading and unloading materials, supplies and equipment; and hauling or carrying materials. The position may also involve assisting skilled craft workers and performing general clean-up and custodial duties.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age
Must be able to perform tasks that involve regular bending, stooping, squatting, walking and lifting of items up to 50 lbs
Some locations will require a valid Driver’s License

Responsibilities

Cuts grass, weeds, trees and brush
Cleans culverts, drains and ditches
Moves, loads and unloads materials, supplies and equipment
Hauls or carries sand, lumber, asphalt and cement or other materials
Occasionally operates forklift or tractor
Assists skilled craft workers, including machinists, carpenters, plumbers, masons, electricians or welders by carrying materials and tools, picking up materials from suppliers or performing tasks, such as mixing concrete or mortar, digging holes and tearing out walls
Digs post holes and ditches
Mows lawns, trims shrubs, rakes grass and trash, sweeps walks and cleans rest rooms
Chips, scales, cleans and scrapes ironwork
Assists in setting up or moving scaffolds
Sweeps, mops and buffers floors
Picks up trash and performs general clean-up and custodial duties
