The Department of Conservation and Recreation seeks applicants for the position Seasonal Laborer II at Lawrence Heritage State Park for the 2026 Summer season. This role performs various manual labor tasks, which may require some specialized skill, to assist in the work of skilled tradesmen and craftsmen such as carpenters, plumbers and masons. Duties include performing manual tasks in connection with the installation of drainage, sewer and/or water pipelines of conduits, such as positioning, joining and sealing pipe sections and culverts, erecting and removing shoring and bracing for trenches and excavations. The position also involves digging trenches and similar excavations, refilling excavations, and spreading and leveling dirt, gravel and other materials using pick and shovel. Additionally, the role includes setting and repairing curbing, patching broken or eroded pavement, installing, repairing and maintaining signs, planting, transplanting, pruning, trimming and fertilizing trees, flowers and shrubs, seeding lawns and gardens, spraying for insects and plant diseases, and performing related tasks such as cutting grass, raking leaves and watering trees, shrubs and flowers. The position also requires loading and unloading trucks, unpacking and storing supplies and equipment, taking periodic inventories, operating hand held power tools, tapping machines and rodding machines, and operating motor vehicles including light vehicles and trucks.
