About The Position

The Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs (EEA) seeks to protect, preserve, and enhance Massachusetts’ environmental resources and create a clean energy future for all residents. The Department of Conservation and Recreation’s mission is to protect, promote and enhance our common wealth of natural, cultural and recreational resources for the well-being of all. The DCR is steward to one of the largest and most diverse state parks systems in the nation. The Division of Operations is the cornerstone of the agency, keeping the network of state parks open, accessible, and welcoming for all. This position involves performing and assisting with a variety of grounds and facility maintenance duties in connection with conservation and maintenance work.

Requirements

  • None. (Minimum Entrance Requirements)
  • May be required to possess a current and valid Motor Vehicle Operator's License.

Responsibilities

  • Cutting grass, raking leaves, watering, painting, rubbish removal, cleaning restrooms, and beautification of parks, campgrounds, reservations, beaches and facilities.
  • May be expected to use a variety of hand tools.
  • May operate motor vehicles and light trucks including loading and unloading of supplies, equipment, etc.
  • Greet and assist park visitors and provide information about the facility.
  • Based on assignment, collect fees.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
