About The Position

The Housekeeping Attendant is responsible for all aspects of cleaning and maintaining the cleanliness of the Aquarium to the highest standards. Due to the nature of the business, this role requires availability to work any shift during, before, or after the attraction's operating hours, as the attraction is open 365 days a year.

Ability to operate related equipment as required.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in grounds keeping/housekeeping is an asset.

Responsibilities

Continuously walk through guest areas ensuring the highest cleanliness standards are maintained at all times, including keeping exterior acrylic of exhibits free of fingerprints, streaks, and smudges while maintaining its overall integrity.
Emptying trashcans and sanitary receptacles as well as picking up trash inside and out.
Vacuuming, sweeping, scrubbing, and mopping floors using various types of equipment (ride-on sweepers, bac-vacs, canister vacuums).
Stripping and waxing hard floors as well as shampooing/extracting carpet as required and scheduled.
Cleaning and sanitizing washrooms and keeping consumables in these areas stocked.
Ensuring the general upkeep of the external property in all seasons by providing snow and ice removal, mowing lawns, raking and weeding, shrub and tree pruning, watering lawns, and cleaning sidewalks.
Following all safety procedures and chemical handling guidelines (MSDS), including wearing proper equipment (PPE) and encouraging staff to do the same.
Dusting signs, walls, lights, etc.
Cleaning both interior and exterior windows and mirrors.
Requesting additional or corrective cleaning applications as required.
Informing the Housekeeping Supervisor/Manager of unresolved problems or matters requiring attention.
Operating related equipment as required.
