About The Position

The Grower Relations Harvest Intern supports the Grower Relations team throughout the growing season and harvest, gaining hands-on experience in vineyard operations, grape quality evaluation, and harvest coordination. Based in Paso Robles, CA, this full-time, non-exempt seasonal role provides the opportunity to work closely with growers, vineyard teams, and winemaking partners to support the successful intake of high-quality fruit for winemaking operations. This role is ideal for students or recent graduates with a passion for viticulture, agriculture, and the wine industry who are eager to gain meaningful, real-world harvest experience.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in or recently completed a program in Viticulture, Enology, Agriculture, Plant Science, or a related field (preferred)
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams
  • Professional, positive, and respectful when interacting with growers and colleagues
  • Flexible availability, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and overtime during harvest
  • Able to adapt to changing priorities and conditions throughout the harvest season
  • Willing and able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and vineyard terrain

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular vineyard visits to monitor vine health, vineyard conditions, and seasonal development
  • Scout for vigor, irrigation status, disease pressure, pests, sunburn, canopy development, and other viticultural factors
  • Collect grape maturity samples from contracted vineyards according to established schedules
  • Record detailed vineyard observations including phenology, crop loads, cluster counts, and ripening patterns
  • Perform basic laboratory analysis on grape samples to assess fruit maturity and quality
  • Maintain accurate vineyard, sampling, and laboratory records
  • Support grape quality evaluations and ensure harvest specifications are met
  • Assist with harvest scheduling, intake coordination, and efficient fruit deliveries
  • Communicate vineyard conditions and harvest readiness to the Grower Relations team
  • Provide data entry, reporting, and administrative support during harvest
  • Support cellar and laboratory teams during peak harvest periods as needed
  • Build positive working relationships with growers, vineyard managers, and internal teams
  • Follow all workplace health and safety policies and procedures
