About The Position

The primary function is to assist the ginner in making repairs and unchoking machinery and keep all areas clean. This role involves operating gin stands/lint cleaners, assisting with choke-ups or repairs, safely removing tags from gin stands, conducting regular visual inspections of belts/pulleys and other abnormalities, reporting any abnormalities to the ginner, keeping the work area clean and blown down to assist the sweeper, and being in charge of lint cleaners during clean up.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Prior experience in a cotton gin and mechanical aptitude is helpful.
• Knowledge of how cotton gin machinery works and the ability to unchoke and repair when necessary.
