About The Position
The primary function is to assist the ginner in making repairs and unchoking machinery and keep all areas clean. This role involves operating gin stands/lint cleaners, assisting with choke-ups or repairs, safely removing tags from gin stands, performing regular visual inspections of belts/pulleys and other abnormalities, and reporting any issues to the ginner. The crewman will also be responsible for keeping the work area clean and blown down to assist the sweeper and will be in charge of lint cleaners during clean up.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Prior experience in a cotton gin and mechanical aptitude is helpful.
- Knowledge of how cotton gin machinery works.
- Ability to unchoke and repair when necessary.
