About The Position

The Seasonal Fruit Evaluator will monitor pre-harvest and harvest for quality and quantity in a timely manner. This role involves estimating crop yields and assisting with the harvest sequence. The company, POM Wonderful, is committed to unleashing the antioxidant power of their handpicked pomegranates, growing, harvesting, packaging, and marketing fresh pomegranates, pomegranate arils, and pomegranate-blended juices and teas.

Requirements

Familiarity with state specific food safety laws.
Ability to see the “big picture” business perspective, but is willing to “roll up their sleeves” and do whatever it takes to get the job done.

Nice To Haves

Fruit Evaluation experience, with a specific emphasis in agriculture preferably within a production/manufacturing setting.
Supplementary training and/or designations related to the quality assurance or food safety field, or equivalent education and experience, is desirable.

Responsibilities

Maintain a valid Driver’s License in good standing in order to operate a company vehicle.
Assist in Fruit Evaluation Management team duties
Monitor crop volumes and fruit sizing across various ranches.
Track trees for in-field fruit cataloging of characteristics and growth.
Assist in the harvest sequence and direction of harvest crews.
Learn fruit sampling techniques for fruit grading and maturity analysis.
Assist in data entry and management of scientific resources
Training and supervision of seasonal workers.
Frequent travel to and from fields will be necessary (vehicle and fuel will be provided).
