The Department of Conservation and Recreation seeks qualified applicants for Seasonal Forest and Park Supervisor I to perform duties related to the seasonal operation, administration, and maintenance of an assigned facility. This includes grounds maintenance, building and equipment repair, and recreational programming. The role involves supervising assigned staff in visitor services, facility maintenance, and resource protection. Specific responsibilities include work assignment and scheduling, performance review and evaluation, and staff development. The supervisor will maintain and enforce professional standards for visitor services, staff appearance, facility maintenance, public safety, and resource protection. They will also develop and maintain relationships with Friends Groups, users, and other interested organizations. Communication with other Departmental staff regarding park activities, incidents, and programs is essential, including preparing written reports and using electronic communication. The role involves preparing reports and maintaining records on the daily, weekly, monthly, and seasonal operations of the assigned area, and making recommendations. Coordination of volunteers and court-referred individuals is also a responsibility. Duties include determining supply needs, operating and maintaining equipment and vehicles, providing public information, interviewing candidates, providing on-the-job training, and using small hand tools.
