The Department of Conservation and Recreation seeks applicants for the positions of Seasonal Forest & Park Supervisor I. This role involves supervising and performing work relative to the seasonal operation, administration, and maintenance of assigned facilities, including grounds maintenance, building and equipment maintenance and repair, and recreational programming. The supervisor will also oversee assigned staff performing visitor recreation and/or education services, facility maintenance, and resource protection programs. Specific responsibilities include work assignment and scheduling, performance review and evaluation, and staff development and training. The position requires maintaining and enforcing professional standards for visitor services, staff appearance, facility maintenance, public safety, and resource protection. Additionally, the role involves developing and maintaining relationships with Friends Groups, users, and other interested organizations, communicating park activities and incidents through various reports and electronic means, and preparing reports and records for operational information and recommendations. The supervisor will also coordinate volunteers and court-referred individuals, determine supply needs, operate and maintain equipment and vehicles, provide public information, interview candidates, provide on-the-job training, and use small hand tools.
