About The Position

This position involves working on a harvesting machine that moves through fields at approximately one mile per hour. The worker will be responsible for separating dirt clods and foreign material from field products like onions or garlic as they pass on a conveyor belt. The role requires the ability to work outdoors in remote locations and to follow company guidelines for grading raw product and/or operating equipment. Effective communication with supervisors and coworkers is also important. The job requires travel with the Harvest from April to November.

Responsibilities

Stand on a harvesting machine moving through fields at approximately one mile per hour.
Separate dirt clods and foreign material from field product (onion or garlic) as it passes on a conveyor belt.
Climb ladder type steps to get on and off the harvester.
Climb into a pick-up for break and lunch.
Lift dirt clods and trash off the conveyor belt (extremely light lifting requiring only hand and arm motion, heaviest cloud not weighing more than 10 pounds).
Follow company guidelines for grading raw product and/or operating equipment.
Communicate well with supervisors and coworkers.
