Seasonal Driver
About The Position
This position is responsible for providing transportation for bell ringers to kettle sites and the Corps, picking up Angel Tree donations from various sites for transport to the warehouse, and picking up and delivering miscellaneous items as needed. The role also involves recording time for kettle pickup, potentially providing relief to Bell Ringers by ringing the bell at a kettle site, washing and cleaning the vehicle regularly, driving carefully and observing all traffic laws and conditions to ensure passenger safety, parking the vehicle safely, locking the vehicle when not in use, fueling the vehicle according to regulations and standards, logging all mileage accurately, arriving at destinations on schedule or communicating delays, and maintaining control of passenger activities by prohibiting unsafe or non-Christian behavior.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to meet attendance requirements.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language.
- Ability to drive a vehicle in heavy traffic and extended trips.

- Experience working in a retail store preferred
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Responsibilities
- Providing transportation for bell ringers to the kettle sites and the Corps.
- Picking up Angel Tree donations from various sites for transport to the warehouse.
- Picks up and delivers miscellaneous items as needed.
- Records time for kettle pickup.
- May give relief to Bell Ringers to take their 15-minute breaks by ringing the bell at a kettle site.
- Washes and cleans the vehicle regularly.
- Drives carefully and observes/complies with all traffic signs and road/weather conditions to ensure the safety of passengers.
- Parks the vehicle in a safe and clearly marked parking space.
- Locks the vehicle doors when the vehicle is not in use.
- Fuels the vehicle in accordance with state gasoline regulations and The Salvation Army standards.
- Logs all mileage on standard forms; ensures the accuracy and completeness of the same.
- Arrives at destination according to schedule or telephones ahead when severe delays occur.
- Maintains control of passenger activities by prohibiting unsafe or non-Christian behavior.
