Seasonal Driver
About The Position
This position is responsible for driving a Salvation Army vehicle to transport passengers and Red Kettle equipment to bell ringing locations. The role involves providing transportation for bell ringers to kettle sites and the Corps, picking up Angel Tree donations, and delivering miscellaneous items. The driver must operate the vehicle safely, adhering to all traffic laws and conditions, and maintain the vehicle by fueling it as needed. Additionally, the driver is responsible for managing passenger behavior to ensure safety and adherence to non-Christian behavior standards.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Two years’ experience operating an automotive vehicle, Or Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Ability to meet attendance requirements.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
- Ability to drive a vehicle in heavy traffic and extended trips.
Responsibilities
- Drives a Salvation Army vehicle in order to transport passengers and Red Kettle equipment to bell ringing locations.
- Provides transportation for bell ringers to kettle sites and the Corps.
- Picks-up Angel Tree donations from various sites for transport to warehouse.
- Picks-up and delivers miscellaneous items as needed.
- Drives carefully and observes/complies with all traffic signs and road/weather conditions to ensure the safety of passengers.
- Fuels vehicle in accordance with state gasoline regulations and The Salvation Army standards.
- Maintains control of passenger activities by prohibiting unsafe or non-Christian behavior.
