Family Triage Environmental Services Worker
About The Position
Columbus House, Inc. is hiring a part-time seasonal Custodian/Laundry Attendant to help clean and maintain the Family Triage, provide occasional custodial support at the main shelter at 586 Ella Grasso Blvd as needed, and perform laundry service functions for four hours per day at that location. The seasonal position runs from November 16, 2026 to April 2027. The role pays $19.00 per hour, and there are two openings. The position requires general physical ability appropriate to its duties, including lifting up to 80 pounds. The employee should be punctual, reliable, trustworthy, hardworking, respectful to staff and clients, able to follow directions, and able to accept supervision. A valid driver’s license is a plus. The position is supervised by the Manager of Facilities.

Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain grounds.
- Clean and maintain interior spaces, including kitchens, bathrooms, offices, dining areas, residential spaces, and common areas.
- Remove trash daily.
- Transport materials and supplies to Family Triage as directed.
- Remove, transport, wash, and dry bed linens and other items related to overflow shelter services.
- Perform laundry service functions for four hours per day at 586 Ella Grasso Blvd.
- Provide occasional custodial duty at the main shelter at 586 Ella Grasso Blvd as needed.
