About The Position

As a crossing guard, you will provide for the safe movement of students to and from school when crossing public roadways and intersections by observing gaps in the traffic and leading students across the roadway or intersection.

Requirements

• Knowledge of how traffic signals function
• Knowledge of basic safety practices
• Good ability to interact with children
• Ability to use good judgment in overseeing the conduct of students

Responsibilities

• Assists students on their way to and from school in safely crossing roadways and intersections
• Work with traffic lights and walk children across the roadway or intersection while holding a “STOP” sign in such a manner as to be visible to approaching vehicles
