About The Position

Vineyard City is seeking dedicated and reliable crossing guards to serve the community and ensure the safety of children. As a crossing guard, you will prepare crossing zones and assist children in safely crossing streets. This role may involve working at various school locations as a substitute. The city will provide reasonable accommodations during the selection process. Pre-employment drug testing and background checks are required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work in outside conditions.
• Able to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Reliable and good attendance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare crossing zones.
• Assist children in safely crossing streets.
• Use discretion and independent judgment in the safe crossing of children.
• Use accurate judgment of traffic flow, speed, and direction of travel.
• Use a hand-held stop sign, reflector vest, cones, and 20 MPH flashing lights.
• Work well with other people, specifically children, parents, and school officials.
• Maintain reliable and good attendance.
