About The Position

Lamp Rynearson, a 100% employee-owned civil engineering, survey, planning, and consulting firm, is seeking a qualified, organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and observant individual for a Seasonal Construction Observer position in their Omaha, NE office. This role is for an energetic field representative familiar with public infrastructure projects, responsible for accurately monitoring and documenting construction projects to ensure they are built according to project plans and specifications.

Requirements

• Construction, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering or Surveying experience
• Ability to interpret civil engineering plans and specifications with attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to relay plan and specification requirements to contractors and to effectively communicate with members of the project team
• Well-developed problem-solving skills
• Ability to collaborate with contractors, clients and coworkers
• Proven organizational skills
• Ability to work well with a variety of character types and backgrounds
• Basic computer skills utilizing Microsoft Office Outlook, Word and Excel, Adobe or Bluebeam software
• Ability to physically maneuver around construction sites, including accessing stabilized excavations and trenches, structures and other disturbed areas
• Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds of weight
• Availability to work overtime including Saturdays as needed
• A dependable personal vehicle to access our project sites
• Valid driver’s license with minimum state required liability insurance and clean driving record

Responsibilities

• Assuring that the project has been constructed in accordance with project plans and specifications.
