About The Position
Vala’s is a family-owned and operated fall festival located in Gretna, Nebraska, serving as a treasured fall tradition for many families. Spanning over 400 acres with more than 50 attractions and 25+ food locations, Vala’s mission is to bring happiness by creating a place for magical memories. This role is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and guest readiness of public areas, including walkways, attractions, and dining spaces. It also involves ensuring the cleanliness of the staff building and restrooms, daily cleaning and restocking of main guest restrooms, monitoring trash services, preparing pavilions for events, and maintaining cleanliness during high-volume events. This is a seasonal, part to full-time position with a variable location based on business needs.
Requirements
- Strong communication and guest service skills
- Works well in a fast-paced, team environment
- Ability to complete bodily fluid clean up training
- Ability to work in variable weather conditions
- Ability to walk, stand, lift, carry, bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, twist, and reach for extended periods
- Ability to move 25lbs, 25-50 lbs frequently, and 50-70lbs occasionally
- No experience is required
Responsibilities
- Maintaining the cleanliness and overall guest readiness of key public areas across the farm, including walkways, attractions, and dining spaces.
- Ensuring the staff building and its restrooms are kept clean and well-maintained.
- Performing daily cleanings of the four main guest restrooms, including hourly checks to restock supplies and uphold cleanliness standards.
- Monitoring trash services throughout the farm.
- Preparing the three main pavilions prior to events.
- Maintaining cleanliness of floors and waste areas during high-volume events.
- Identifying and responding to cleaning needs in a timely manner.
- Lifting full trash bags and transporting them to appropriate disposal locations.
- Wiping tables, mopping, and sweeping.
- Checking handwashing stations and bathrooms, restocking supplies as needed.
- Maintaining clean and functioning bathroom stalls, including plunging toilets as needed.
- Supporting trash and cleaning operations for large catering events.
