Assist in coordinating the operation of all Special Events or Leisure Experience activities (i.e., ICE!, Best of Florida Christmas, SummerFest, etc.). This role involves checking the status of operations, lighting, AV, cleanliness, and system operation, and correcting any aesthetic deficiencies. The coordinator will follow training guidelines to support the direction of Special Events Manager and Assistant Managers, and monitor and assist with training for all Special Events employees. Learning and operating software systems used in events (i.e., ticketing, retail, inventory, space usage, etc.) is also a key responsibility, as is resolving financial, inventory, and numeric discrepancies. The role also requires adherence to company policies, reporting accidents and unsafe conditions, maintaining professional appearance and confidentiality, and protecting company assets. A significant part of the job involves guest interaction, including welcoming and acknowledging guests, anticipating and addressing their needs, and thanking them with genuine appreciation. Communication skills are essential, requiring clear and professional language and appropriate telephone etiquette. Developing and maintaining positive working relationships, supporting team goals, and complying with quality assurance standards are also expected. The role encourages identifying and recommending new ideas to increase efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, and cost-savings. Physical requirements include standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods and moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance.
