About The Position

Under the general supervision of the Cemetery Director, this role performs a variety of unskilled or semi-skilled maintenance work. The Seasonal Cemetery Worker operates a variety of equipment in the construction, operation, repair, maintenance, and replacement of cemetery facilities and systems. This position is responsible for maintaining a clean and well-groomed appearance of the cemetery grounds.

Requirements

• Graduation from high school or GED equivalent, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Some knowledge of equipment to be used.
• Ability to come to work on time, follow directions, be honest and dependable, maintain safe work environment, be cooperative, have a positive attitude, be courteous and considerate team member, manage time effectively, concentrate on work, recognize problems and find solutions.
• Ability to perform manual tasks for extended periods of time.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other departments and the public.
• Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
• Skill in operation of the listed tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Weed eat, mow, landscape, trim, prune all vegetation and grass maintaining a clean well groomed appearance of the cemetery grounds.
• All other related duties as assigned.
