About The Position

ALDI is hiring enthusiastic seasonal cashiers and stockers to support store operations and provide an excellent customer shopping experience. Cashiers provide friendly, efficient checkout service and may complete curbside pickup orders. Stockers keep shelves and displays stocked, neat, and organized according to merchandising plans. Both roles support customer service, operational efficiency, loss prevention, safety, store standards, inventory procedures, product handling, and general cleaning. The position is part-time, averaging fewer than 30 hours per week, with a starting wage of $19.00 per hour.

Requirements

At least 18 years old.
Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service.
Ability to operate store equipment, including cash registers, floor scrubbers, cardboard balers, pallet jacks, handheld devices, and computers.
Ability to interpret and apply ALDI operating policies and procedures.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Ability to follow instructions and pay attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and with others.
Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete assigned tasks within established timeframes.
Ability to maintain reliable and prompt attendance.
Ability to meet availability requirements.
For stocker duties, ability to arrive at work as early as 5:00 a.m.
Ability to perform the physical demands of the role, including lifting and placing products weighing up to 45 pounds on shelves at various heights, including overhead.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Prior work experience in a retail environment preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide prompt, courteous, and efficient customer service, and escalate concerns to store management as necessary.
Assist store management in achieving operational efficiency and total loss goals.
Comply with company policies and processes.
Support a safe working environment by identifying and rectifying hazards, ensuring proper ergonomics, and maintaining equipment in proper working order.
Maintain store zone and merchandising standards.
Follow inventory procedures and product handling guidelines.
Perform general cleaning tasks to company standards.
Use the point-of-sale system to scan and process purchases accurately, and report scanning concerns or errors to store management.
Follow cash policies and procedures.
Follow the checkout line policy and open additional check lanes as required.
Complete curbside pickup orders by retrieving items, verifying order contents, and delivering orders to customers’ vehicles from the staging area in a timely manner.
Stock shelves and displays neatly according to merchandising planograms.
Stock product in varying temperatures, including freezer and cooler environments.
