Seasonal Cashier/Stocker

About The Position

ALDI is hiring enthusiastic seasonal cashiers and stockers to support store operations and provide customers with an excellent shopping experience. Cashiers provide friendly, efficient checkout service and may complete curbside pickup orders. Stockers keep shelves and displays stocked and organized according to merchandising plans. The position is part-time, averaging fewer than 30 hours per week, with a starting wage of $18.50 per hour. Team members help maintain store standards, support operational and loss-prevention goals, follow company policies and procedures, promote a safe work environment, handle inventory and products appropriately, and perform general cleaning. Stockers must be able to arrive as early as 5:00 a.m.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service.
Ability to operate store equipment such as cash registers, floor scrubbers, cardboard balers, pallet jacks, handheld devices, and computers.
Ability to interpret and apply ALDI operating policies and procedures.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Ability to follow instructions and pay attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and with others.
Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete assigned tasks within established timeframes.
Ability to maintain reliable and prompt attendance.
Ability to meet availability requirements.
Ability to perform the stated physical tasks, including lifting, carrying, and placing products weighing up to 45 pounds on shelves at various heights.
Stockers must be able to arrive to work as early as 5:00 a.m.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Prior work experience in a retail environment preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide prompt, courteous, and efficient customer service, and escalate customer concerns to store management as necessary.
Assist store management in achieving operational efficiency and total loss goals.
Comply with established company policies and processes.
Help maintain a safe working environment by identifying and correcting hazards, using proper ergonomics, and keeping equipment in working order.
Maintain store zone and merchandising standards.
Follow inventory procedures and product handling guidelines.
Perform general cleaning tasks to company standards.
Use the point-of-sale system to accurately scan and process purchases, and inform store management of scanning concerns or errors.
Follow cash policies and procedures.
Follow the checkout line policy and open additional checkout lanes when needed.
Complete curbside pickup orders by retrieving and verifying items and delivering them to customers’ vehicles from the staging area in a timely manner.
Stock shelves and displays neatly according to merchandising planograms.
Use store equipment, including cash registers, floor scrubbers, cardboard balers, and pallet jacks, as required.
