About The Position
The Basketball Coach is responsible for supporting youth sports programs by coaching teams in a safe, structured, and positive environment. This role focuses on promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, skill development, and adherence to program rules and guidelines. Our coaches serve as mentors, fostering leadership, humility, teamwork, and responsibility both on and off the court. We are dedicated to shaping well-rounded individuals who thrive not only in sports, but in life.
Requirements
- Previous experience coaching basketball or working with youth preferred
- Knowledge of basketball rules, techniques, and gameplay
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with youth of varying ages and skill levels
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work evenings and/or weekends
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
Responsibilities
- Plan and lead engaging practices focused on skill development and teamwork
- Teach basketball fundamentals in an age-appropriate and inclusive manner
- Foster a positive, respectful, and team-oriented environment
- Supervise participants and ensure their safety at all times
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and program staff
- Promote good sportsmanship and character development
- Assist with set-up and clean-up of equipment and facilities
- Support game-day operations, including basic game management as needed
