About The Position

Four Seasons Hotel Minneapolis seeks a Barista to join their talented team for a seasonal position. This role involves serving guests by providing exceptional knowledge of coffee, tea, and food items, as well as information regarding preparation methods. The Barista will provide counter service, accommodate guest requests, describe menu items vividly, anticipate guest needs, and handle transactions accurately. Responsibilities also include maintaining the cleanliness and setup of the service area, complying with Four Seasons work rules, working professionally with colleagues, and assisting with inventory and stocking.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years of hospitality or related work experience is preferred.
  • High school education or equivalent experience.
  • Requires reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language.
  • Ability to make coffee and tea drinks at the guest requests and Four Seasons standards specifications.
  • Ability to accurately process cash and credit card transactions.
  • Valid work authorization for the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Providing counter service to guests through taking verbal requests for food and accommodating the expediting of such requests, including any special needs or requests through using the hotel’s point-of-sales system.
  • Checking completed orders with the guest’s original order and providing items to the guest at the counter or table in a timely manner.
  • Describing the selection of food and beverage menu items to guests by offering interesting, and vivid descriptions of each item’s, origin, taste, and preparation methods.
  • Accommodating guest orders.
  • Anticipating guest needs, ascertaining satisfaction, and offering suggestions.
  • Responding urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests.
  • Properly and accurately closing guest checks; processing cash and credit card payments; properly settling voided checks or complimentary items.
  • Breakdown, cleaning and set-up of Stir and its adjacent areas, including front of house, back of house and seating areas.
  • Complying with Four Seasons’ Category One and Category Two Work Rules and Standards of Conduct.
  • Working harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Assisting with daily inventory and ordering and stocking food and beverage and paper supplies.
