About The Position

This is a seasonal position for the Spring/Summer season. The role involves assisting with the maintenance of ball fields at the Fun Valley Complex, performing mowing duties, and maintaining department equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude and effective communication and public relation skills. Hours may vary depending on the event schedule, and overtime will occasionally be required. Weekend work will frequently be required.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
• 1 or more years of similar or related experience is preferred.
• A valid Kansas driver's license is required.
• Must be at least 16 years of age to apply.
• Must consent to background and drug screening prior to starting employment.

Responsibilities

• Maintains irrigation and moundings.
• Operates and maintains department equipment including mowers, edgers, trimmers, infield drag, gator, and tractor with groomer.
• Performs grounds keeping duties including mowing, trimming, irrigating and preparation of ball field play.
• Cleans and removes trash and debris from the ball fields.
• Assists with repairs and replacement of irrigation valves, sprinklers, and lines.
• Performs all other duties as deemed necessary or assigned.
