About The Position

Boston University Admissions is seeking to hire a group of seasonal application readers for the 2026-2027 application reading season. These readers will work with the Office of Undergraduate Admissions from early November through early March. This is a 100% remote position. Seasonal readers will undergo a three-week training period. After training, they will collaborate with professional staff to evaluate applications from secondary schools in specific U.S. regions and overseas. Responsibilities include a comprehensive assessment of applicants by reviewing academic credentials, recommendations, activities, and essays, while also considering the applicant's life experiences and background. The office handles a high volume of applications, with approximately 80,000 applicants annually. Critical skills for this role include attention to detail and strict adherence to deadlines. Strong analytical and reading skills are essential, as is the ability to work independently and seek clarification when needed. Due to the confidential nature of application review, discretion is paramount.

Requirements

• Prior experience in secondary schools or higher education.
• Familiarity with secondary school transcripts.
• Access to a private computer with a reliable internet connection.
• A bachelor’s degree.
• Reside in the United States.
