About The Position

The Seafood Production Worker (filleter), reporting to the Production Supervisor, or designate will be responsible for ensuring proper filet techniques are utilized, filleting various species of fish and other sea products for production and retail sales, ensuring maximum use of product.

Requirements

• Experience with the utilization of fillet knives, food processing equipment, and food safety.
• Willingness to work with raw meat products.
• Willingness to work in a cold environment.
• Ability to perform physical tasks requiring lifting, carrying, and moving objects weighing 30+ lbs. safely and effectively.
• Physical fitness and stamina to sustain prolonged periods of activity, repetitive movements, and manual labor.
• Commitment to safety standards and practices.
• Legally able to work in Canada at this time.

Nice To Haves

• Previous work experience is an asset but not required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the quality and freshness of products.
• Inspect fish and other sea products for defects, bruises, blemishes, and other damage.
• Perform filleting, deboning, scale removal, and fin removal process.
• Properly cut all types of portion orders to ensure the lowest loss percentage.
• Safely and properly fillet fish ranging from 5lbs-60lbs.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of areas.
• Operation of fish processing machinery if required.
• Additional duties as assigned.
