Key responsibilities include greeting customers, learning their names, assisting them with their needs, answering the phone, training and supervising department employees, determining work schedules, inspecting displays, ordering product, communicating sales and ideas, handling customer issues, figuring retail pricing, analyzing sales trends, preparing ad projections, planning displays and promotions, and ensuring proper temperatures and storage procedures are maintained. The manager must also understand and troubleshoot equipment and ensure maintenance is performed, while adhering to company guidelines for personal hygiene and dress.
