About The Position

Seafood Cutters play a crucial role in ensuring that high-quality seafood products are available to customers. This position is responsible for maintaining freshness, appearance, and cleanliness of the Seafood Section. This position is also responsible for preparing and cutting fresh fish, as well as making poke and sushi. Attention to detail and knowledge of seafood will ensure our customers receive high-quality products.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business data and effectively respond to the data.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from vendors, customers, employees, or others involved or associated in the warehouse section function.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts relevant to the role such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • A valid health certificate or ability to obtain a certification is required for this position.
  • Ability to interpret and comply with variety of instructions.
  • Ability to use cutting tools, knives, and kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Knowledge and ability to maintain Health code standards.

Nice To Haves

  • A high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in seafood preparation or related preferred
  • Knowledge of different seafood varieties and proper cutting techniques and safety protocols preferred
  • General knowledge of basic accounting a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and package fresh and frozen seafood products according to company standards
  • Cut, trim, and fillet various types of seafood with precision and accuracy
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area, including cutting tools and equipment
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure freshness and minimize waste
  • Provide exceptional customer service by offering assistance and knowledge about seafood products
  • Adhere to all sanitation and safety guidelines for handling seafood products
  • Create poke bowls by selecting and slicing various seafood ingredients, mixing sauces and toppings, and presenting attractively.
  • Make sushi rolls by rolling seafood, rice, and vegetables in seaweed sheets, slicing into portions, and arranging on plates.
  • Collaborate with other team members to maintain a smooth workflow and meet customer demands.
  • Ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Providing exceptional customer service and assisting with any inquiries or special orders.
  • Keep work area clean and organized.
  • Other duties as assigned or instructed by management.
