About The Position
This role involves providing friendly and courteous service to customers, maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the seafood department, preparing products for display and sale, and handling various seafood items. The position requires regular attendance, adherence to safety and sanitation procedures, and the ability to work in a cold environment. Responsibilities include preparing seafood for cases, proper storage of product, handling live seafood, preparing party trays, suggestive selling, and cooking/frying/steaming products for customers. Additional duties may be assigned by store management. Training will be provided at the store level.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older to apply
- Must be able to work in a cold, damp environment
- Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds
- Must be able to work on feet entire shift (4-8 hours)
- Minimum of six months employment with Schnucks preferred for Store/Facility Teammates
- Minimum of one year employment with Schnucks preferred for Store Support Center Teammates
- Must be in good standing (not on a performance improvement plan or active discipline)
- Manager approval based on performance required if invited for an interview
Responsibilities
- Provide friendly and courteous service to customers
- Regular, reliable attendance
- Follow company safety and sanitation procedures
- Maintain cleanliness of work area, equipment, seafood cases, and backroom
- Prepare product for cases
- Pull product from cases for proper storage at closing
- Handle live seafood
- Prepare party trays and selected seafood
- Suggestive selling and sampling products for customers
- Cook-fry and steam product for customers
- Perform other duties as assigned by store management
