About The Position

This role involves providing friendly and courteous service to customers, maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the seafood department, preparing products for display and sale, and handling various seafood items. The position requires adherence to safety and sanitation procedures, suggestive selling, and potentially cooking or steaming products for customers. Additional duties may be assigned by store management. Training will be provided at the store level.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older to apply
• Regular, reliable attendance is an essential function of the job
• Must be able to work in a cold, damp environment
• Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds
• Working on feet entire shift (4-8 hours)

Nice To Haves

• Minimum of six months employment with Schnucks preferred for Store/Facility Teammates
• Minimum of one year employment with Schnucks preferred for Store Support Center Teammates
• Must be in good standing (not on a performance improvement plan or active discipline)
• Manager approval based on performance if invited for an interview

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly and courteous service to customers
• Maintain cleanliness of work area, equipment, seafood cases, and backroom
• Prepare product for cases
• At closing, pull product from cases for proper storage
• Handle live seafood
• Prepare party trays and selected seafood
• Suggestive selling and sampling products for customers
• Cook-fry and steam product for customers
• Follow company safety and sanitation procedures
