About The Position

This role involves providing friendly and courteous service to customers in a fast-paced store environment. The Seafood Clerk is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the seafood department, preparing products for display, and ensuring proper storage of seafood. The position also includes preparing party trays, suggestive selling, and potentially cooking or steaming seafood for customers. Training will be provided at the store level.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older to apply
• Regular, reliable attendance is an essential function of the job
• Must be able to work in a cold, damp environment
• Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds
• Must be able to work on feet entire shift (4-8 hours)
• Internal Candidates: Minimum of six months employment with Schnucks preferred
• Store Support Center Teammates: Minimum of one year employment with Schnucks preferred
• Must be in good standing (not on a performance improvement plan or active discipline)
• If invited for an interview, must have manager approval based on performance

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly and courteous service to customers
• Maintain cleanliness of work area, equipment, seafood cases, and backroom
• Prepare product for cases
• Pull product from cases for proper storage at closing
• Handle live seafood
• Prepare party trays and selected seafood
• Suggestive selling and sampling products for customers
• Cook-fry and steam product for customers
• Other duties as assigned at the discretion of store management
