The Electrical Technician is responsible for installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems and all related control systems, sub-systems, and related equipment. This role requires the ability to work independently, analyze situations, and make decisions with minimal supervision. The technician will follow NEC electrical code to install and repair electrical systems, read and interpret blueprints and drawings, and use schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications. They will work with hand tools, power tools, and electronic test equipment to install and repair electrical and control systems, including power supply wiring and conduit. Troubleshooting electrical components, wiring diagrams, transformers, motors, panels, and circuits is a key part of the role. The technician will also install, maintain, and repair electrical systems such as switch gears, motor controls, electrical panels, CT cabinets, control systems, lighting, and power supplies. Testing electrical systems and continuity of circuits using testing devices like ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes is required to ensure compatibility and safety. Additionally, inspecting systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, and ensuring compliance with codes is essential. The technician will diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, or components, and perform preventative and corrective maintenance. A strong understanding of electronic theory and circuitry is utilized to address technical problems.
