We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with strong expertise in Java and Playwright. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and robust automated testing frameworks. This role requires excellent programming skills, a quality-first mindset, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Exposure to functional testing is a plus to ensure comprehensive end-to-end application quality.

Requirements

  • Strong programming skills in Java
  • Hands-on experience with Playwright for automation testing
  • Experience in building and maintaining automation frameworks
  • Knowledge of web application testing and modern testing practices
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps)
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies
  • Experience with defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla)
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

  • Exposure to functional testing is a plus to ensure comprehensive end-to-end application quality.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain test automation frameworks using Java and Playwright
  • Create, execute, and maintain automated test scripts for web applications
  • Perform functional testing to validate application features and ensure high-quality deliverables
  • Collaborate with developers, QA, and product teams to understand requirements and define test strategies and test cases
  • Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing
  • Identify, track, and report defects using standard defect management tools
  • Analyze test execution results and provide actionable insights to improve software quality
  • Ensure comprehensive test coverage across UI, API, and integration layers
  • Optimize test execution processes to improve reliability and reduce runtime
  • Participate in code reviews for test automation scripts and frameworks
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including Development, QA, and DevOps
  • Actively participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives
  • Maintain and update documentation for test plans, test cases, and automation frameworks
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends, tools, and best practices in test automation and quality engineering
