About The Position

This role is for the Quality & Automation team, where you will learn modern test engineering practices, contribute code, automated tests, and quality improvements. The SS&C Market Data team delivers global market information, including equities, commodities, derivatives, indices, fundamentals, research, and news, across the SS&C product ecosystem. As a Software Engineer in Test, you will be responsible for driving automation strategy, expanding regression coverage, and ensuring thorough validation of all components before client release.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in CS, Engineering, Math, or related fields
  • 1–3 years software/automation development experience
  • Experience with one or more languages: C#, C++, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Go
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Passion for technology and continuous learning

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Financial Technology industry
  • Test automation experience in an Agile/Scrum environment
  • Strong knowledge of HTTP and REST APIs
  • Experience testing real-time applications
  • Familiarity with Atlassian tools: Confluence, JIRA, Bitbucket
  • Familiarity with AI tools

Responsibilities

  • Improve quality, reliability, performance, and usability of Market Data services
  • Contribute to automation roadmap and expand integration test coverage
  • Build and maintain automated test suites for APIs, services, system flows
  • Develop holistic automation strategy with fellow SEITs
  • Analyze requirements and implement structured QA methodologies
  • Promote coding best practices for test maintainability
  • Enforce Agile quality gates: Definition of Ready / Definition of Done
  • Participate in code reviews with focus on correctness and reliability
  • Maintain CI pipelines, test data, and pre-production environments
  • Track and improve quality metrics: defects, coverage, flakiness
