About The Position

The primary function of this role is to provide an educational program that meets the educational needs of each student in the teacher’s area of responsibility. The teacher is directly responsible to the principal or other designated administrator.

Requirements

Valid California Teaching Credential authorizing service in Special Education (Mild/Moderate Disabilities)
Bachelor's degree or higher
Knowledge of Special Education law and best practices
Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage a classroom effectively
Commitment to student success and professional growth

Nice To Haves

Experience teaching students with moderate disabilities
Bilingual skills (Spanish/English)

Responsibilities

Provide instruction consistent with district and school expectations that meets the educational needs of all students assigned.
Communicate with students, parents, administrators, and other staff members in a manner consistent with district and school expectations.
Employ planning, record keeping, resource management, and learning environment management practices consistent with district and school expectations to maximize effectiveness.
Provide student supervision that ensures student safety consistent with district and school expectations.
Assume professional responsibilities in a manner that meets district and school expectations and ensures continued personal and professional growth.
Implement district goals and objectives for certificated teachers as modified in the individual’s planning conference.
Perform other duties as assigned consistent with the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District/Livermore Education Association contract.
