About The Position
Scuba Department is now hiring for Scuba Mates, Boat Mates, Divemasters and PADI Instructors for the Fall 2026 season. Sea Base is a unique Scouting program that offers aquatic programs found nowhere else. We work with youths and adults for scuba adventures such as Live Aboard Adventures, Open Water certification, Advanced Certification and a resort style scuba week of diving. Divemasters and Instructors are needed to guide divers and conduct certification programs. If you are an experienced diving professional or just starting on this career path you will gain years of experience in one season. The Sea Base is one of four National High Adventure Bases operated by Scouting America (formerly Boy Scout of America). We offer programs that include fishing, sailing, scuba diving, coral restoration, snorkeling, kayaking, camping, and much more across six operating locations. Our staff get to work in many different capacities to support and run our many programs that run throughout the year. While the summer season (approximately mid-May through August) is our largest opportunity for staff, we have employment opportunities throughout the year.
Requirements
- Open Water diver certification for Scuba Mate
- Rescue Diver certification for Boat Mate
- Divemaster certification for the Divemaster position
- PADI Instructor certification for the Instructor position
